A 57-year-old woman who had a breast reduction 30 years ago is considering having the surgery again, but is curious about the risks, if any, if the surgery were to be done a second time.

A secondary breast reduction  is not an uncommon operation, particularly for people that underwent a reduction at a much younger age and then had a reoccurrence of fullness and increased size of their breasts. However, it's important for the technique of breast reduction that was used during the first surgery to be known to the surgeon performing the secondary surgery, as that is important in reducing a complication of blood supply to the nipple.
