Wrinkle Reduction and Anti-Aging with Injectables, Laser Treatments & Peels

Q: I’ve been in the sun my whole life, and I have discoloration, blotchiness and ‘smoker’s lines’ around my lips. What would be the best way to get rid of the lines around my lips and tune up my skin? Are there any new injectables that the doctors like?

A: There are a lot of new injections coming on the market from time to time, but it depends on the surface of the skin. If you have super-fine wrinkles and aging skin or you live somewhere with a lot of sun exposure, injectables may be a component for improving your appearance and certain lines, but you can’t get complete resurfacing of the skin with the injectables alone.

Laser treatments could be a more viable option. If it’s the skin quality that you want to improve, then laser treatments or chemical peels are going to give you the best result for those lines.
